Training NPI
has several ASNT NDT
Level III instructors
and Quality Engineers
that regularly conduct
training in both the NPI
classroom or at the
project or customer
facility. All courses
have a specific body of
knowledge that meets
industry standards.
Instructors are
continually monitored
and evaluated to assure
their effectiveness.
Quality System
The NPI quality
system meets the
requirements of ASTM E
543, ISO/IEC 17025,
Mil-Q-9858A and NQA-1.
Personnel
NPI personnel are
qualified and certified
to guidelines
established in ASTM
SNT-TC-1A, NSI/ASNT
CP-189, NAS-410, NAVSEA
9074-AS-GIB-010/271, and
NPI's own written
practice. NDT Level III
personnel are endorsed
by the American Society
of Nondestructive
Testing.
Welding/Structural
Inspectors are
nationally certified to
AWS QC-1 and ICBO.
Mechanical Integrity
Inspectors are certified
to API 510, 570, and
653. Quality Engineering
personnel are required
to have a minimum of 5
years construction
experience in quality
related activities.

and Inspection
NPI has over twenty
years experience in
QA/QC/Auditing relative
to Structural Steel
(Bridges and Buildings),
Storage Tanks, Nuclear
Power Construction,
Refinery and Cross
Country Piping,
Semiconductor High
Purity Tubing, ASME
Pressure Vessels/Piping
Systems and API
Mechanical Integrity.
Nondestructive
Testing
NPI has the ability
to perform both
laboratory and field
ultrasonic testing using
"state of the art"
ultrasonic equipment.
Our ultrasonic
technicians have
advanced technical
training in in portable
ultrasonic phased-array
testing, flaw
characterization and
flaw sizing, in addition
to 25 years experience
in ASME/AWS flaw
detection and corrosion
surveys. NPI is also
capable of field-testing
using using fluorescent
water washable, visible
water washable and
solvent removable
techniques are
available. Water
washable panetrant
methods may be used in
field applications
provided EPA approved
water recovery systems
are in place. Magnetic
Particle equipment
utilizing both direct
and alternating current
are commonly used by NPI
in the field and
laboratory. A variety of
Boroscopes and
Fiberscopes allow NPI to
perform remote visual
inspections.
