Semester Schedules

NPI holds training on the Quarter System. Though we teach Spring, Fall and Winter classes, the Summer semester is not held. Please check the latest schedules on this web site to ensure availability of the classes you desire. All instruction is scheduled as QTC deems necessary.

Class Times

Courses may be scheduled on weekdays, weeknights, and/or weekends, depending on availability of instructors and facilities. Daytime instruction will normally be 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Night instruction will normally be 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Course Information
 

NDE–NO–01  (8 Hours)

NDT Overview — Teaches the basic theory and capabilities of various NDT disciplines used in the industry today. Radiography, Ultrasonic, Penetrant, Magnetic Particle, Eddy Current, and Visual Testing are presented. This is a perfect course for engineers and quality managers.


NDT–MP–01  (8 Hours)

Material Processes (MP) — This class is a pre-requisite to MT and PT classroom training. It provides a basic understanding of nondestructive testing material processes such as:

• Forgings
• Castings
• Weldments


NDT–MT–01  (32 hours of class instruction based on NAS-410)
Level I and II

Magnetic Particle (MT) — Includes instruction on wet and dry continuous methods, fundamentals, system evaluation and standard inspection parameters.

*The Materials Processes course is a pre-requisite and is built into the class instruction and taught the first day.  It must be completed to receive full credit.


NDT–MT–02  (20 hours of class instruction based on SNT-TC-1A)
Level I and II

Magnetic Particle (MT) — Includes instruction on wet and dry continuous methods, fundamentals, system evaluation and standard inspection parameters.

*The Materials Processes course is a pre-requisite and is built into the class instruction and taught the first day.  It must be completed to receive full credit.


NDT–PT–01  (32 hours of class instruction based on NAS-410)
Level I and II

Liquid Penetrate (PT) — Includes instruction on fluorescent and visible penetrant fundamentals, system evaluation, and standard inspection parameters.

NDT–PT–02  (12 hours of class instruction based on SNT-TC-1A)
Level I and II

NDT–UT–01  (40 hours of class instruction based on SNT-TC-1A)
Level I

NDT–UT–02  (40 hours of class instruction based on SNT-TC-1A)
Level II

Ultrasonic (UT) — Entails classroom training in the theory and application of ultrasonic test methods, including code, specification, and interpretations.

Level I

NDT–RT–02  (40 hours of class instruction based on SNT-TC-1A)
Level II

Radiographic Testing (RT) — Classroom training in Gamma and X-radiographic test methods, techniques, radiation safety, and radiographic film interpretation.


NDT–RT–03  (16 hours of class instruction based on SNT-TC-1A)
Level I

Radiographic Interpretation — Classroom training in Gamma and X-ray techniques, film processing, and typical discontinuities. Exercises in interpreting radiographs to various codes and standards.


NDE–VT–01  (24 hours of class instruction based on SNT-TC-1A)
Level I and II

Visual Testing (VT) — Methods of visual inspection of metal fabrications and related components using various conventional and remote inspection tools and instruments.
